Steve Niendorf's Rolling Blackout. That is one unbelievable car.
DKK line-up. Too bad that there weren't other So Cal VW clubs in full force in the event.
Roy Maple's '67.
Mark's '67, it has been cool to follow the evolution of this car in the Cal Look Lounge during the past 2-3 years. Really dig finishing of the wheels, but I do like Fuchs, sorry Alloys, in other finish too :)
Marc Buehler's Split that was featured in 1975 Hot VWs Cal Look issue, now totally rebuilt. Car was dismantled shortly after the magazine was published and remained in pieces until two years ago when the restoration started. Awesome to see it, I don't know how many times I've read Keith Seume's bible or have stared of the pictures of green and red Der Rennmeister Association Splits side by side.
The former owner of the Green Der Rennmeister Association Split, Ed Graig, currently owns this green KG.
Der Selten Käfer members line-up consisting Hecker's '67, Bruce's '66 and Larry's '58. Thanks guys for the good times, beers and stories, highlights of my trip.
Couple of shots more of Ted's cool late model.
John Rayburn's '64. Iconic trird generation DKP car, along with Art Gutierrez '67 below.
Splitdog Jim's Split is one of the coolest Splits I've seen in real. Spend some time around it at Nick's and saw it driving in to the cruise night, cool to see a car that is so well detailed/build/working.
Convertible which I have drooled over in thesamba, now I was able to do it in real :)
That's some pretty clean and straight Bus, fast too was following it after the event on freeway.
On our way to hotel spotted Fabien and Mark on Interstate 10 on their way home from the event.
