1965 Split Panel Bus For Sale

In late June our car community, Luftsick, received sad news about loosing Pauli, one of our members. Continuing the sad theme, his old ride is now for sale..

Bus is located in Espoo, next to Helsinki. Pauli's Bus was re-built between 1987 and 1998. Since that it has been maintained and through one engine swap, current engine is a "cruiser-type" 1776cc.

Bus is fully drivable and it has carried it's owners to several European road-trips, including trip to Gross Glockner in Austria, Bad Camberg VW event in 2007 etc.

If you're interested you can contact me for more information.

Bus was painted in late 90's orange VW colour. The paintwork is now 13 years old and naturally not perfect anymore but showing proudly the "battle scars". Mirrors are from JJ Lehto's Dallara Formula-1 car if I remember correctly.

The engine is a 1776cc unit, perfect for the long-distance running Type II. Behind the engine is a Beetle gearbox (swing-axle) conversion. The Bus is lowered with adjusters at front, front brakes are discs and drum brakes are used in rear.

Interior-wise the Bus is equipped with two Recaro seats (don't know their origin), Standard Beetle steering wheel and Berg-shifter.

The cargo area is upholstered and the Bus was used as a camper van even though it's a Panel.
