Collection of photos from Sebastian Vuorisalo's album. These were taken in Bug Run #7 and #8. I guess the saying "this used to be whole lot more fun before someone invented the rules" applies quite well to these photos. Things certainly were more open back then and the cars didn't remind each other so much as today. Sadly today Bug Run, even though still worth a visit, is a shadow of what it used to be.
I spotted this very cool and nostalgic '69 Z-28 Camaro while refueling somewhere near Turku. Coolest part of the car are those drag race inspection stickers from 80's races. One more nice touch is that surviving Pro-Street styled graphic on side of the car.
Seeing Pasi's '58 Dodge in my rear-view mirror at morning rush hour reminded me about John Carpenter's movie Christine. (even though Christine was '58 Plymouth Fury, if I remember correctly). Had to change lanes before it ate the little Audi..
Now that I was corrected the Dodge Kingsway in question is import-only model and based on Plymouth body that is shorter than Dodge :-)
'60 Cabriolet for sale in oldbug.com. I remember that car being featured in VW Trends-magazine, I drooled so much over the feature article photos, exactly the same year model and colour as mine was new.
I guess mine will look okay lowered and with either Gas Burners or Holy Grails :-)
Pasi's daily driver for the next Winter, '58 Dodge, getting new muffler. Nice grille emblem :-)
Two old "racers" saw action this summer too, Pete's ex-Looker went through three Urhon Ajot races and Hitler's Revenge saw low 12-second passes with fairly inexperienced driver (son of Kotten's buddy, two races and eight passes all together, quite nice result).
Pasi had also bought couple of early 50's Tatras, this 2-litre air-cooled flat-4 block is from one of them.
Blog dedicated to the California Look and Resto Cal Volkswagens. Also other interesting motors that I personally like, are featured, from Vintage Porsches to Hot Rods etc.
